This is a quintessential twenties day dress. With the polka-dotted sheer overdress and the solid green cotton slip, and same fabric tie belt, this is a rare full ensemble. Evenmoreso, it is a durable cotton and that shade of army green popularized by the first World War. This outfit is in great vintage condition with some light fading on the left sleeve of the outfit.

2018 marks 82 years of tradition that everyone has come to know and love as "The Marcus Community Fair". This annual event has always had a strong focus on family, and serves as a showcase of the talents of our youth, and others of all ages, by providing a means of education, exhibition, and competition. The Fair highlights our community’s ties to agriculture, industry, and businesses— all of which provide the backbone to the community. The Fair has also become an annual reunion where old friends and family have an opportunity for reaquaintance, and remembrance.

2018 is the 34th straight year of free gate admission. Generous local supporters make funding possible through various fundraiser’s, county funding, state funding, grant writing, and.

The Marcus Community Fair provides a significant economic impact on our community, and in turn, the State of Iowa.

A twenty-member board works diligently year round to find, promote, and schedule activities and it works hard at maintaining an expanding fair grounds worthy of such an event. Other volunteers serve on committees and help with numerous tasks during the Fair. Without this kind of support, the Fair Marcus has today would not exist.
